Friends of Birstwith School is a well established and successful parents- teachers association.

We are an active committee consisting  primarily of parents and teachers, who work together to support the school .
'Friends' meet on a regular basis to discuss ideas and arrange fund raising events.
We always welcome new members and try to keep our meetings friendly but productive.

Our contributions to School are both practical and financial, both of which directly benefit all the children and staff.
In past years 'Friends' have helped to fund large projects such as the creation of new classroom space and working kitchen, but typically we help to purchase extra resources;  music / sports /  IT equipment, books and suchlike. We have also made an ongoing commitment to subsidise extra curricular activities such as School outings and the curriculum based swimming lessons.
Alongside fund raising events we support and organise social occasions, thus nurturing the great community spirit within School, Church and the village.

The support that 'Friends' show to School is always greatly appreciated and by being involved  we are rewarded with the knowledge that we are helping to enrich our children's lives at School, maintaining community links and forming great friendships along the way!
We warmly welcome any new members and thank all those who give their continued support.

To see what 'Friends' are involved with, and for forthcoming events please follow the School notice board and updates in the monthly school newsletters.
