Birstwith CE Primary School

At Birstwith School, RSHE is taught as part of our PSHE curriculum and is delivered through our myHappymind Plus programme, reflecting our Christian vision of making full use of the gifts God has given us. Through RSHE, we aim to help every child flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually, enabling them to become healthy, confident and responsible members of their communities.

Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) is a school curriculum subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy, safe and prepared for life and work.  When delivered well, PSHE education has an impact on both academic and non-academic outcomes for pupils, particularly the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) is the curriculum area through which children learn about healthy and respectful relationships in all contexts, including online; family and friendships; physical and mental wellbeing; personal safety; and age-appropriate aspects of human development and sexuality.
